Hi, I’m Lance Hough.
I’ve been creating meaningful, engaging wedding ceremonies since 2009. I love helping couples shape something that truly reflects who they are—something that feels natural, personal, and worth remembering.
My goal is simple: to make the ceremony planning process feel easy, collaborative, and genuinely enjoyable.
A Little More About Me
Outside of weddings, I’m someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people and hearing their stories.
I’ve spent much of my life in roles centered around communication, leadership, and creating meaningful experiences—work that has shaped how I approach weddings today.
At the end of the day, I don’t take for granted the role I get to play. Being invited into one of the most important moments in someone’s life is something I treat with a lot of care and respect—and a good sense of humor when it’s needed.
How It All Started
I didn’t set out to become a wedding officiant—it started with one ceremony for close friends.
At the time, I was working in church ministry and had experience speaking in front of people, but I quickly realized that weddings were something different. More personal. More meaningful. More lasting.
After that first ceremony, word spread. One wedding turned into a handful, and before long, I found myself officiating regularly—each time learning more about how to create something that felt true to the couple in front of me.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to officiate weddings of all kinds—large and small, traditional and non-traditional, in intimate living rooms and lavish banquet halls, and in quiet backyards and public parks. No matter the setting, the goal has always stayed the same: create a ceremony that actually feels like the couple it’s for.
My Approach
Most brides wouldn’t choose a one-size-fits-all wedding dress. In the same way, I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all ceremonies.
For some couples, that means keeping things simple and straightforward. For others, it means building something fully custom from the ground up. Most fall somewhere in between.
Either way, the process starts the same—with a conversation.
I take time to get to know you, understand what matters to you, and help guide you through the decisions that shape the ceremony—structure, tone, pacing, and everything in between.
My role isn’t just to show up and officiate–it’s to help you feel confident in what we’re creating together, so when the moment comes, you can be fully present in it.
The Ceremony Workbook
One of the tools I’ve developed, in conjunction with other wedding officiants I’ve worked with over the years, is a guided ceremony workbook—a resource designed to help couples think through the different elements of their ceremony in a clear, structured way.
It’s not a script. It’s a starting point.
The workbook walks you through options, prompts, and ideas you may not have considered, while giving you the flexibility to shape everything to fit your relationship and your style.
Some couples use it lightly. Others dive all the way in.
Either way, it helps turn what can feel like an overwhelming process into something creative, collaborative, and actually enjoyable.
Let’s Connect
If this sounds like the kind of experience you’re looking for, I’d love to hear more about your wedding and what you’re envisioning.
No pressure–just a conversation to see if we’re a good fit.
