Frequently Asked Questions

I specialize in personalized wedding ceremonies—from simple and streamlined to fully custom experiences.
Whether you’re looking for something straightforward or something completely one-of-a-kind, I’ll work with you to create a ceremony that reflects your story, your values, and your style.
I also offer optional add-ons like rehearsal attendance and premarital counseling if you’re looking for additional support along the way.
-
Getting started is simple.
You can reach out through the contact form or schedule a free consultation. We’ll talk through your wedding, what you’re envisioning, and what matters most to you.
From there, I’ll guide you through the next steps and help you figure out the best fit—no pressure, just a conversation.
-
Most couples wouldn’t choose a one-size-fits-all wedding dress—so I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all ceremonies either.
Every couple is different, and your ceremony should reflect that.
I take the time to get to know you, understand what matters most, and help shape a ceremony that feels natural, personal, and truly yours. Whether that means keeping things simple or building something from the ground up, the goal is the same: a ceremony that actually feels like you.
-
I am an ordained pastor and minister, legally permitted to solemnize weddings in most US states, including Washington and Idaho.
I was formerly a full-time vocational pastor for 15+ years, but no longer work in ministry.
-
A lot. I stopped counting after 200–but each one matters to me just as much as the first.
I’ve been officiating weddings since 2009 and have participated in both the most humble and most extravagant wedding celebrations, and everything in between. I’m comfortable in most any setting and among the most diverse and eclectic groups of people.
-
I offer two main options depending on the level of customization you’re looking for:
Well-Loved Words – Starting at $375
Made Just for You – Starting at $500
Both include a collaborative planning process, ceremony creation, officiating, and handling of your marriage license.
Additional services like rehearsal attendance, travel beyond 25 miles, and premarital counseling are available as add-ons.
We’ll walk through all of this together during your consultation so you can choose what feels right.
-
My goal is to make this process feel easy, collaborative, and even enjoyable.
We’ll start with a conversation, then I’ll guide you through the decisions that shape your ceremony—structure, tone, content, and flow.
Some couples want more guidance, others want more creative control—most land somewhere in between. I meet you where you are and help you feel confident in what we’re creating together.
My process is almost entirely digital. I use Google Drive for sharing and editing, so your ceremony is accessible anytime, from anywhere.
By the time your wedding day arrives, you won’t be wondering how it’s going to go—you’ll be ready to be fully present in it.
-
You name it! The couples I've worked with are about as diverse as it gets: various ages, races, backgrounds, religious affiliations, and cultures. Being from one of the nation's great melting pots, the San Francisco Bay Area, I celebrate diversity in every way and welcome the opportunity to serve couples from all walks of life.
-
Not unless you want to.
Some couples love writing their own vows, others prefer something more traditional, and many aren’t sure where to start.
I can help guide you either way—whether that’s providing structure, prompts, examples, or helping you refine what you’ve written.
There’s no “right” approach—just what feels right for you.
-
Absolutely not!
Your ceremony can contain as much or as little spiritual content as you would like. I have no personal agenda and do not require any kind of content in my ceremonies.
I am willing to say pretty much whatever you want in your ceremony, assuming it doesn’t violate my personal values or beliefs.
-
Yes! I’m happy to preside over vow renewals, anniversary celebrations, funerals, and memorial services. I approach each of these with the same individualized care and attention as wedding ceremonies.
Please reach out to me directly and I’d be happy to talk with you about your unique ceremony/occasion.
-
I can, if needed.
Rehearsal attendance is available as an add-on and can be especially helpful if you want extra guidance walking through the ceremony logistics ahead of time.
That said, most wedding venues provide couples with a wedding coordinator that will lead the rehearsal. So unless you need someone to lead the ceremony rehearsal or the venue requires the officiant to be present, it’s likely that I won’t be needed at the rehearsal.
We’ll talk through whether it makes sense for your specific wedding during your consultation.
Additional fee for rehearsal attendance. Subject to officiant availability and proximity of venue to Spokane, WA.
-
As soon as you have your date and venue locked in, it’s a good idea to reach out.
That said, I do occasionally work with shorter timelines depending on availability—so even if your wedding is coming up quickly, it’s still worth checking.
-
Yes. I travel regularly across Eastern Washington and North Idaho.
Travel within 25 miles of Spokane is included. Beyond that, I charge $1 per mile.
If your wedding is outside the area, feel free to reach out and we can talk through the details.
-
Once we’ve had our consultation and you’ve selected the ceremony package that best fits you and any additional services you may need, I’ll send an agreement to you both via Google Drive. The agreement can be reviewed and signed digitally.
In order to complete your booking, I must receive the signed agreement and a 50% deposit of the full cost of services.
The remaining 50% balance is due no later than 7 days after the wedding ceremony.
-
I am able to accept payment via Zelle (preferred), Cash App, cash (in person only), or by credit card via direct payment link. Payment details will be clearly outlined in your agreement so everything is simple and transparent.
I do not accept personal checks, gift cards, or other non-traditional forms of payment.
-
That’s completely normal.
Most couples come in with a general idea—but not all the details. Part of my role is helping you figure that out.
I’ll walk you through options, ask the right questions, and help you shape something that feels clear and intentional without making the process overwhelming.
-
Of course you do! That’s great!
If there’s something you’re wondering about that isn’t covered here, feel free to reach out.
I’m always happy to help—and chances are, if you’re wondering about it, you’re not the only one.
I get it. This is (probably) the first time you’re getting married. There are a lot of details to consider—and probably a whole list of questions you haven’t even thought to ask yet.
It’s okay. It might be your first time, but it’s not mine. I’m here to help bring clarity, offer direction, and give you peace of mind knowing that your wedding ceremony will be everything you want it to be–and more!
Here is a list of the most common questions couples ask.
And if there’s something on your mind that I didn’t cover, feel free to reach out—I’ll get back to you soon with answers.
